Thoroughbred owner Mike Repole is considering keeping his 2-year-olds out of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile races because of the no-Lasix rule enacted this year by the Worlds’ Championships.
This isn’t breaking news, as Repole has expressed his discontent about nearly all things Breeders’ Cup for some time now, but hearing him express his views never gets old.
“I wouldn’t want to handicap that race, and quite honestly, I wouldn’t want to be in that race,” Repole told host Barry Abrams of In the Gate on ESPN Radio, referring to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.
Repole said he might “take a totally different route” with one of his top juveniles, Micromanage, because of the Lasix rule.
